Plaza de Toros: Ronda Spain Bullring

Ronda’s bullring is the oldest and most beautiful in Spain. The city is known to be the home of modern-day bullfighting after Francisco Romero reinvented the sport in the 1700s.

While we would never promote bullfighting as an activity (quite the opposite in fact) there is really no denying this is a stunning piece of architecture to behold. As you wander the sandy arena, you can’t help but imagine what it must have looked like packed with people cheering so many years ago.

Oldest Bullring in Spain

The Bullring of Ronda was introduced to the beautiful city of Ronda in 1785, and quickly became the center of life here. Today it is one of the most representative monuments of bullfighting, with an extremely rich history – in fact, you can check out this timeline of the Ronda Bullring to experience it yourself.

excellent small bus trip, although the bus driver did go the wrong hotel for our pick up, this was corrected when viator paid for our taxi to meet the bus. Tour guide was very good, hit the highlights of Ronda. Only request would have been to have more free time in the city, good shopping and more sights to see

We were promised a motor coach because I have a degenerated disc in my back and would never sign up for a tour in a minivan. The motor coach never appeared-we got a mini-van. At least it was a Mercedes, so it was not too bad. Unfortunately, once we got to Ronda, it was clear we had made a mistake. To spend all day and a lot of money to see a place with limited attractions was not the best way to spend our time and money. On top of that, our lunch was the worst food we had in our entire trip around Spain.

First off, the reviews all 2 of them almost made me cancel this, but I am so glad I didn't. The actual itinerary that is listed on this is NOT what we did. We had our own private mercedes van pick us up near our hotel while the driver was incredibly nice, he didn't speak English and drove incredibly fast to the point where I was left nauseous on my return. A woman who did speak English confirmed and told us to enjoy our trip to Ronda. While there, we had our own tour guide who was happy that we were walking read: sneakers shoes there are some hills and cobble stone streets. He took us to the look out of the bridge before the sun would make pictures impossible and then walked us through the old part of the city. Our first stop was the church where we got to go upstairs 72 to take panoramic views of the city from the balcony. Then we slowly made our way to the new part of the city to go into the Plaza de Toros de Ronda. Those are the only two places we went into and that were included we did not visit the Palace or House that are listed in this request. We had about two hours of free time which included lunch and some shopping time. We met the van back to take a drive to Pueblo Blanco Zahara where we had 25 minutes to walk up and down the streets to take photos we did not know we would be going there either, we did not have the option for an upgrade. It was nice having a private tour an the local guide's English was easy to understand and answered all of our questions. Considering how small this city is, I felt we spent the right amount of time and saw what was necessary. If you're looking to go hiking up and down to get better views of the bridge, you would be able to just not spend as much time eating or shopping.

Paid for this tour (w/o pueblos blancos tour), but ended up being combined with another tour that toured 2 pueblas blancos then Ronda. NO WINE TASTING! And got 45 minutes at end of tour to see the Bullfighting ring on my own. Had separate tour guide in Ronda-who was quite rude and had issues with people having to go to the bathroom. He never had ANY scheduled bathroom breaks during the tour and pissed off 1 couple b/c we didn't have time to do the tour in Spanish and English, Only English. thus they left and went off on their own. Tour company should find a better guide for Ronda.

I only gave it 3 stars because we were not allowed time in the city of Ronda. We were left with one hour for lunch and had to make our way back to the bus. Didn’t get to tour the city on our own and buy souvenirs. Also, we didn’t visit the cities in Pueblos Biancos as per tickets. We had to plead with our guide to take us. They stopped only for 5 min enough to take a panoramic picture of one city. Nevertheless, The guide In Ronda was great and our tour was delightful. I definitely recommend this trip and hopefully they would actually make it over 11-12 hours, per description.

We had a lovely time at Ronda and had a nice tour of beautiful white village. Worth taking this tour

Thomas picked us up at our hotel promptly at 9 am and by the end of our trip he was part of the group. We didnt want to leave him. He not only gives you a private tour of Ronda, but also told us about Spain in general and their customs. He took us a scenic route to Ronda and a different Way home so we could see the country making several stops along the way back. For lunch he lead us to a beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view! He made us feel completely comfortable and at ease and never rushed! Ware so glad we spent the day in Ronda seeing the breathtaking views! This tour is fantastic!

What a wonderful way to visit and learn about Ronda! Peter was awesome in arranging/transporting us and our walking tour was excellent. Very personal (just my daughter and myself) and relaxing which was great. Would highly recommend!

Peter, our guide, had everything well organised for a special visit to the Pileta Cave with prehistoric art. Great coffee on the way was quite unexpected and the cave was simply amazing. We were picked up from our ship and returned to the ship in good time. We were ecstatic about the whole visit. Thanks Peter

GOOD DAY OUT Would have been top class if not for the last whistle stop of 30minutes at Marbella. Dis not give enough time to see the promenade and the Constitution Park
