The Gaudi House Museum is known as Casa Museu Gaudi in Catalan. It is a three-storey house with a tower roof, all painted in pink stucco.

The building was originally constructed as a model for another 60 homes to be built in the Park Güell development. Gaudi designed the garden around the house, but the building itself was constructed by his pupil Francesc Berenguer.

The project was abandoned, and the house given to Gaudi to live in. The great architect stayed in the home for 20 years, until 1925. After his death, the house was bought by the Chiappo family. They admired the architect and decided to name the building Gaudi House in his honor.

In 1963, Gaudi House was opened to the public. The Foundation that runs the museum has collected many personal documents and pieces of furniture designed by Gaudi over the years. Their goal is to showcase the personal side of the architect and raise awareness of his life and work.

Today, the Gaudi House Museum is part of the free access area of Park Güell. You can visit the park, designed by the great architect, and then also see the place where he lived.

Note that the museum requires its own admission ticket. When you buy a ticket, you will be given an admission time, as only a small group is allowed in the house.

Grazie mille a Sara.

Less than 24 hours before our tour of Parc Guell, the tour operator (Visit Europa Today) canceled our tour. Said it was due to overwhelming system error!! We were unable to see the park, as there were no available tickets. Book through the official Parc Guell website!! Very disappointed! Do not use Visit Europa Today!!

It was a very convenient voucher. In particular, it was very convenient because it had a good public transportation system, exchanged your voucher for a simple teecat, and used it automatically for 48 hours from the first use. It is very convenient to buy and use these vouchers when traveling in Europe.

A good choice for a short visit of the city. The price for the 2-day variant is roughly the same as a metro ticket from/to the airport (separate ticket) and a 10-rides ticket for metro. Discounts for museums are a nice extra value, I would say. I don't know if the lady giving me the card (in the tourist info at the airport) made a mistake, but I only got a blue "transport card" which worked on public transport (incl. the airport metro) and then in the museums and other places they asked me to show them "the red card" (Express card) which I didn't get. In most places showing them the map which comes together with the Express card was enough to get the discount, but they said I was supposed to have "the red card". So make sure that you get all you are supposed to get when picking up the card(s)!

I really liked the Barcelona card. We got along well with the public transport. It should be noted that you can not drive for example with the Aerobus (private company), but great with the subway to the airport. Also with the Golondrines there was juicy discount. I would definitely buy them again. However, you do not have to show just the Barcelona Card to get the discount, but the plan you get.
