Barcelona is famous worldwide for its fantastic and unique wines! Taste cava and wine from Spain and Catalonia, in the heart of Barcelona or on a nearby wine farm.

There are a few ways to enjoy it – choose between a short wine tasting experience that will introduce you to the local wines and their production, or half-day Barcelona wine tours and tapas tastings! We list a variety of different options, making it great for romantics and families alike.

Know before you book:

  • This tour is not suitable for pregnant women or children under 18
  • Bring comfortable shoes for full tour
  • Dietary requirements should be specified beforehand

  • Try a variety of fantastic local wines
  • Have fun with your group
  • Tour a vineyard and try some Catalonian tapas

Relax in the Catalan countryside or in the heart of Barcelona on a Spanish wine tour! Producing some of the best – and the most – wine in the world, Barcelona is the perfect place to enjoy some wine tasting.

You can choose a short wine tasting, and enjoy Catalonia’s best wines and cava (a local variation of wine, and the perfect drink on a summer day). This is the perfect option for those only spending one or two days in Barcelona!

The best option, however, is dedicating a half-day to a Barcelona wine tour. You’ll learn all about the region’s intricate history of wine and culture. You’ll also enjoy your wines with tapas that pair perfectly and have been perfected over many generations!

Depending on the tour you choose, you could even tour multiple wineries near Barcelona Spain, and observe the intricate processes.

Barcelona wine tour prices 2019

Small-group tours can be adapted to suit your schedule, while most other wine tastings start at a set time in the morning or the afternoon. When you book you’ll be able to choose the best time for you.

Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm
Saturday – Sunday: 8am – 5pm

Best time to go

The best time to enjoy a Barcelona wine tour is in spring (March to May). During this time, the weather is perfect and the crowds are smaller than in summer. In addition, spring is a great season for wine, and you may even catch a local fiesta!

Wineries near Barcelona

When you’re deciding on your Barcelona wine tasting experience you need to decide between staying in the city or venturing out to one of the nearby vineyards!

This is a difficult choice, as the vineyards near Barcelona are some of the prettiest in Spain! The landscape is dotted with wineries and historic vineyards, many of them running in the same family for generations.

So if you’re only interested in trying the wines, we suggest sticking to the city center and enjoying a wine tasting in Barcelona. But if you want to enjoy that Spanish vineyard beauty, join a tour that takes you beyond the city’s borders!

Wine tour Barcelona options

Choose between wine and cava tastings with or without tasty tapas to pair with them. Stay in the center of Barcelona or take a trip to the Spanish countryside! There’s a perfect option for everyone.

    5. Anonymous – Canada

fantastic tour – beautiful vineyards, and generous on the tastings! It was an excellent tour. The only downside was that during the 4wd in the vineyards, there were no comments provided and the jeeps are old, so the only thing we smell is exhaust gas fumes.

    6. Ulla – Sweden

A very interesting lunchtime introduction to Barcelona dining We chose this tour as an introduction to Barcelona dining, and it didn't disappoint. Our guide, Julian, was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and wine regions of Spain, so we learned a lot even before the tour started. And as expected, we were treated to very nice wines at four different locations with some very tasty Tapas selections as well. The wines flowed pretty freely (we were taking another afternoon tour so we had to moderate our drinking). Definitely recommend as a nice way to have a light lunch and learn at the same time.

    9. Rohan – Australia

Fantastic group with plenty of wines to try!

    10. Selina – Germany

Done with love Very interesting slides and great vines to taste. Very friendly and smart host. You can always have a little extra of vine if you like. The cheese at the end was also very delicious. I would totally recommend this to any vine lover.

You would think that on a private tour with an experienced local, you would be relatively safe but no! Unbeknown to us our tour ended in probably one of the roughest areas in The Ramblas on a Saturday night! As nice as she was, you would think she would know not to take us there or at least had advised my husband to remove or hide the gold chain around his neck. Instead he was attacked from behind and his chain ripped from his neck with great force! The thief made off down a side street and was gone in seconds. We were told it was pointless to call or go to the police as they are apparently helpless to do anything with this escalating crime in Barcelona. As for the tour itself, it was certainly shy of wine tasting – First stop a glass of martini rosso, a couple of glasses of house wine and ended with poor cider at best. We ate pinchos which is a small slice of bread with a topping, held together with a spike/cocktail stick (cost 1/1.5 euro each) 2 pinchos x 4 venues. It certainly wasn't about traditional tapas. The tour is definitely not worth $66 (60 euros) per person. This happened on the first night of our vacation, we thought it would be a nice starter but couldn't be further from the truth!!!!!

We had a great tour with Laura. We had a couple added to the tour from Canada which made everything even better as we met new people. Laura was excellent very knowledgeable and the local places she took us to were great. Thoroughly recommend Laura. The food was amazing and at a great price if you wished to add more. Completely local experience not so many tourists in the area we went to. Loved it. Thank you Laura.

Roxundra was wonderful! She was prompt, friendly and connected with everyone in our group of six. We had such a good evening with her and appreciated her expertise of the wines and tapas we enjoyed. We could never have experienced such great food and bars without her guidance and company.

What a great way to start my visit to Barcelona! Javier was a charming, knowledgeable and fun tour guide. This tour is definitely worth your money. I learned a lot about the city's food and wine and got to explore local neighborhoods as well as meet new friends from around the world. Would highly recommend!

This was a great find. The tapas were interesting and the wine was delicious. I was a little surprised that we had 3 whites and only 1 red and I did not care for the red at all. Still the experience was great and the soomelier was knowledgeable.

    17. Bernie854

Highly recommend this tour. Well worth the money. Our tour guide was really friendly and informative. It was my birthday when we visited the Llopart winery and our guide made me feel really special. The lunch was Iberian ham, breads and Spanish cheese. We tasted two Cavas and one white wine. We had several glasses of each! The winery is about 40 minutes by bus from Barcelona city centre.

    18. crifae

Loved the views and the house but the wine wasn’t great. Also, no red wine to sample. The oils( only 3 samples) was a complete bust.

    19. Adrienne S

Loved this tour, great wine and tapas. Tour guides at both places (wine and cava) were very knowledgeable and learned a lot. The atmosphere and scenery were so relaxing and beautiful, great day trip away from the city.
