All of the photographs shown here are from my October 2003 visit to Seville. Seville can get damp during the rainy season, but this October it was exceptionally wet.

The gardens of the Seville Palace are a blending of styles, from the time of the Moors to the Renaissance.

There was a sprinkle in the air as I entered the garden. I knew this wasn't to be one of those relaxing walks in the park; if I was going to get some garden photos I needed to work fast! Minutes go by. I make my way to an outer wall of the garden, and then the clouds start dumping all they have on me. Slipping my camera under my jacket, I start running like a madman back to the palace.

As I approached the palace, I notice other visitors scurrying into a small doorway into what, I thought at the time, to be the opposite garden wall.

This door is closer than the palace doorway, so I enter and discover a spiral stairway leading up to a covered walkway. I now realize that what I first thought was a wall is actually a long pavilion extending out from the palace. From my new perch, I discover and view more gardens. The rain continues in downpour. My complete exploration of this garden will have to wait for a return visit.
