April Fair of Seville, page 4 - Taste of delicacies |
|
|
Although most of the casetas (casetas large photo) are private, hosted by Sevillana families and
clubs, there are also some public ones that you can visit. These are usually
run by political parties and local authorities. Their look is usually less
charming, composed of the basic elements only, without too much decoration, but
you get the taste of the Dry Fino Sherry, the Manzanilla from Sanlucar and the
popular dishes of fried fish and Iberian cold meats. |

At sunset, the riders and coachmen leave the Feria with their horses. Thousands
of paper lanterns and bulbs illuminate the streets and casetas of the village
filled with outgoing people making friends, singing, dancing, eating and
drinking. The public casetas close at three, but for the private casetas the
opening hours are more flexible, depending on the mood of the hosts.
