Located in the Parque (Park) Maria Luisa, the Plaza de Americas was the site of the Spain-American Exposition of 1929. Most of the buildings in the park, including the Plaza de Espana, were built for the Exposition.

The white pigeons in the photo above can not be found any where else in Spain. They were a gift from the Philippines for the 1929 Exposition.
The Maria Luisa Park dates from 1893 when Duchess of Montpensier gave half of her Palace (San Telmo) gardens to the city.

The Photo to the right, was taken in late October, as you can see the park can be enjoyable during all seasons.

Among the buildings you will find in the park, are the Archeological Museum and the Museum of Popular Art and Traditions
