The decor for this room dates to Charles III. The wall is covered in embroidered velvet, while the ceiling is an elaborate fresco designed to invoke the visitor to associate the monarchy with the glories and titans of old.


Made by Matteo Bonicelli in 1651		 The two lions at the foot of throne are made of bronze.

Many of the palace rooms have fresco ceilings. The throne room ceiling was done by Tiepolo.

On one end of the ceiling's fresco various gods of Olympus are shown. Another section of the fresco denotes the various kingdoms of Spain and the regions of the world once under Spanish colonial control.
