The inviting Hotel San Gabriel is located in the center of Ronda's historic old town.
If you are looking for a hotel with plenty of Spanish character and close to the sights of Ronda, this hotel may just be what you are looking for.
The hotel is housed in a building constructed in the 1730's. After a fire in the 1980's the house was renovated but still retains much of its historic features.
We entered old Ronda by way of the "new bridge" and thanks to the directions provided to us by Madrid and Beyond we were able to locate the hotel San Gabriel on a narrow side street, right off the main road. Receiving a warm greeting in the well appointed lobby a young hotel clerk guided us to our room via the elevator. Entering our hotel room we took in the large room and the pillar bathroom beyond. "So what's your rating on this hotel?" I ask my wife.

The charming courtyard of Hotel San Gabriel can be accessed through the dinning area. |
"I'm giving this my ideal for honeymooners rating! I think they would find it perfect." Thinking of the older couple we had seen parking their car just as we had entered the hotel, I added "not a bad place for a 50th wedding anniversary either" .

Our breakfast at the Hotel Gabriel included a number of produce made with in the neighberhood including freshly baked breads, hand squeezed orange juice, marmelades and jams, and half cured cheese.
Wife's rating:
"This is a hotel for honeymooners! " |
