The
information below was provided by Walks of Madrid.
Take a relaxing, two hour canoeing excursion on the Tajo River through Aranjuez and then a guided tour of the Royal Palace.
The canoeing event is an excellent way to combine a cultural experience with some physical exercise. This is a particularly good activity for teenage children whose interest in cathedrals and castles may not match your own. Unfortunately, only canoeing groups of 10 or more people can be assured reservations for this event. If you are a family or a group of less than 10 people, it may be possible to combine you with a smaller or larger group. Contact "Walks of Madrid" and they will try their best to match you up with an appropriate group. Once the private recreational haven for royalty, Aranjuez now beckons all Madridians to enjoy its beauty. The summer Royal Palace of Felipe II sits on the banks of the Tajo River. Started by Felipe II with just 20 rooms, his successors expanded it to 300 spectacularly decorated rooms.
