At the
heart of the historic village of Montánchez, this charming and

Extremadura, in particular the historic

with as many bedrooms. On the ground
floor, there is a spacious lounge area
with wooden beamed ceilings as well as a
full kitchen fireplace and bathroom. |

for the summer and central heating for
the colder months. |

On the second floor are two
wonderful double bedrooms, combining
rustic charm and character with comfort
and modern amenities. Both possess wooden
(chestnut) beamed ceilings and en suite
bathrooms.

From the double bedroom
on the third floor, you can step
out on to the terrace and admire the
magnificent views including the
Montánchez
Castle, which is perched high above
the village. Built and rebuilt over the
centuries, the present day walls of the
castle date back to 1694.

The house is owned and run by a delightful lady who was born and raised in the village. She couldn't do more to make her guests feel at home. This is the sort of person and place that discerning travelers rave about.
With the Roman treasures at nearby Merida and the stunning villages of Caceres and Trujillo even closer to home, this makes a wonderful base for a few days in Extremadura, a region of great natural beauty and history. |
