Above: my room at the Hostal Valencia. The doors open to the balcony overlooking the Plaza de Oriente.

The room had a large private bath.
Photo Left - the ground floor entrance to the Hostal Valencia.

The Hostal Valencia is housed in a building that was constructed in the 1800's. To get to the hostal you stop at the big doors (shown in the photo), turn right and take the little stairway up through the small doorway. Then you will find the elevator and main staircase. While the staircase looks like it has not been renovated since the building was constructed, the elevator is relatively new and easy to operate.
