| While tourists are allowed to
visit the grounds and main floor, you won't have
free access to the entire complex. San
Lorenzo El Escorial continues today as a
monastery, and much of the complex is off limits
to the casual visitor. Below are a few photos of
other areas of the complex (open to the public)
that didn't fit with the other El Escorial
