A recommended Spain Travel Agent - see my review.

The guide book reported the Muslim baths were being restored and should reopen in the spring of 1997. As this was March of 1999, I thought it should be open, and it was; at least I think it was open.

The Arab baths in Ronda are considered some of the best preserved in Europe. According to Muslin custom of the time, one had to be purified before entering the city. Thus, the location of the baths is next to the Puente Arabe.

I walked by the baths but didn't see any sign to indicate I had found them or one to identify the entrance. There were two men standing in front of an open gate talking to each other. I went up to them and looked in through the gate (no movement from the two men). Finally, I asked in Spanish if it was possible to enter. The men nodded that I could and parted so I could go in. I also asked about taking photographs and was told that it wasn't allowed. The photo above was taken outside the fence.

Puente Arabe - North of the baths is the Puente (Bridge) Arabe.
