Known as Bilbao in Spanish and Bilbo in Basque, the city of Bilbao sits on the Rio (river) Nervion. A thriving city, with a strong industrial base, today the city is known world over for its modern art museum designed by Frank Gehry.

The Guggenheim Museum is truly a masterpiece but do not overlook visiting the Museo de Bellas Artes, it too has a superb art collection.
