Sometimes I'm asked what Spanish sites are not to be missed in a visit to Spain, to which I normally respond: the Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita in Cordoba, etc. Funny thing is, some of the Spanish places I have the fondest memories of are not on my "must see list," things like my visit to the cave home in Guadix, the walled city of Laguardia, the Roman ruins in Merida, and the Palace of Lebrija in Seville.

Some sights of Spain:
Alhambra Cuenca Plaza Espana Salamanca
Alhambra, the patio fo the Lions hanging house of Cuenca The Plaza de Espana in Seville

Toledo Castle
The city of Toledo is a World Heritage Site with numerous historical sights and a healthy shopping district. Toledo is an easy day trip from Madrid.
Featured Accommodations:

The Parador of Sos de Rey Catolico
Receives the highest rating my wife has ever given to a Spain accommodation.
Exceptional services, spacious room and historic atmosphere make this the place to stay if you are exploring Sos del Rey Catolico and near by communities, such as Uncastillo, the Monasterio de San Juan de la Pena, Castillo de Loarre and the Valleys of Anso and Hecho.

A Pro and Con look at Group / Bus Tours -
I prefer to travel on my own, but there are times group tours can make sense-for example, a day excursion from a major city or traveling with friends and family. This section takes a look at the options and provides links to some resources.

Check out my Journal to see what is happening with me and the websites.
Articles on Spain Festivals
Some festivals are grand and a number are rather modest, many have a religious connection, some are historical, all provide a little insight in to Spanish culture.
